Autometer sender for Quadzilla?

'93 clutch goin' b-bye!

I'm considering switching from 2 cycle oil to either Stanadyne or Amalgamated. Is there a track record for Amalgamated additives?

I've been a user for something like 7 yrs. , or shortly after the president of the company wrote an article for the TDR. Don't remember the issue #. Prior to that I'd used Stanadyne, Howes, Redline, and Power Service.

Only available in 5 gal. pails, and pay by check at time of order. I use a pail per year, and every one arrived within 7 days of order.

I just have this trusting gut feeling that they do in fact have a 6+ cetane rating, which is impressive.

Last time I did the math, it was almost 1/2 the cost of Stanadyne, even with shipping.

www.amalgamatedinc.com (see TDR formula's on pull down product menu)

I like the Amalgamated too, been a user about 7 years as well. I'm about ready to order another 5 gallon can. It was a lot more expensive when I bought it last year but hopefully the price has gone down.

Alamagated TDR-S 5 gallon pail

I contacted them today and the 5 gal pail including shipping is $137. 45.

Now if I figured it our right the cost would be $1. 93 which is 9 oz for 30 gallons,

That is less than the others by far.

Of course my math leaves something to be desired at times.

The said to use 3 oz per 10 gallons.

No more than I drive I would never use up the 5 gallons before I'm to old to drive.

I'm in NE Oregon so if any one close by would like to split a pail let me know and we will see what what we can work out. I could use 2 gallons if some one wants the other 3.

I have been using it for years now after a friend turned me on to it. Works great in the subzero temps. I have actually pick the stuff up personally and spoke with the Gary and his crew, he has a great bunch and they are definately experts in the fuel treatment area. It's like $60 for 5 gal pail, the shipping is pricey because it's hazmat and has to go ground. Definately worth the purchase IMO. I originally bought a case of stanadyne and reuse the empty bottles filling them with amalgamated, easier to carry in the truck.

thanks for the reply.

***It's like $60 for 5 gal pail, the shipping is pricey because it's hazmat and has to go ground. ***

Well I can see shipping is pricey as I was quoted $137. 45 for 5 gals.

One of the members of the NW Bombers group and i are going to order 10 gals and I will take 3 gals and that should last me a long time.

I plan to get some baby bottles so I can carry enough for any trip I plan. :)

I spoke with Randy and traded emails on pricing and he quoted me a cost of $100. 25 for the TDR-WDA plus $30 shipping via FEDEX.

That was back in April 2009.

Just got my five gallon jug and have used in first fill up thirty five gallon trk tank and sixty gallon aux tank. Truck not smoking as much as with howes, standyne,PS . Truck sounds like a different motor. dont know about mileage but didnt buy it for that. I haul gas diesel and av gas and have seen allot of pump go outat the loading rack first with lsd then even more problems with ulsd. dont know if problem is from lsd ulsd but never a pump problem with dino diesel,

Just finished up a 1200 mile trip pulling the 5th wheel well using the Amalgamated Fuel Additive and was as I hoped,, it hand calculated out to 11. 693 mpg . The truck seem to run better and the mileage was very good compared to hauling the 5er with out the Amalgamated Fuel Additive .

Those trips were 9. 9 to 10 mpg and very little with the overdrive turned off.

This trip was about 800 to 900 miles with the overdrive off and lots of mountain passes and slow driving with lots of curves.

So I feel the Amalgamated Fuel Additive is a good investment along with the rest of the items is helps.

The only thing I wish I had was a exhaust brake

Well I just got my 5 gallon pail yesterday and filled up today, added about 10 0z's for a full tank so we'll see how it goes. I'm using the TDRs cause the fuel never gells down here. Now that I've said that this year we'll hit record low temps :)).

The stuff sure smells like Lubrication Engineer's 2400.

If you have a commercial diesel supplier near you, you could probably pick up a case of 6 half-gallons of Stanadyne Performance Formula for $90. I've been using it for ten years and 120K miles, towing heavy 2/3 of the time, and the engine runs like a top with zero repairs. I've compared mileage towing a 12Klb boat trailer with and without several times, and it's about 1/2 mpg better with. Quieter and less smoky too.

I use MSR bottles to carry mine. They are the aluminum bottles you find in the camping section for carrying white fuel for backpacking stoves. The seal and cap are made to withstand solvents that are in the fuel and do not break down.

They have several different blends. What one do they say to use in our pickups? 5 gallons would last a long time. I have been just adding a qt. of motor oil at fill-ups. My diesel repairman tells me to add something. A qt. of oil keeps going up so this would cost less and should do better?

Alamagated TDR-S

Below is the reply I received from Randy at Alamagated

{{Yes Ray we do have other sizes, we have a 6-pack of quarts and a 2. 5 gallon jug. The quarts of TDR-W run 47. 01 plus $20 shipping and the 2. 5 gallon jug runs $52. 22 plus $25 shipping. The TDR-S in quarts runs $46. 41 plus shipping and the 2. 5 gallon jug runs $51. 23 plus shipping. The winter formula treats at 4ozs per ten gallons of fuel and has both the winterization and the performance enhancing qualities. }}

I use the 10 oz Ocean Spray juice bottles to carry it when we are traveling.
