Amalgamated Fuel Additive

They have several different blends. What one do they say to use in our pickups? 5 gallons would last a long time. I have been just adding a qt. of motor oil at fill-ups. My diesel repairman tells me to add something. A qt. of oil keeps going up so this would cost less and should do better?

There was a study on additives done and, if I remember correctly, motor oil really adds nothing beneficial (does not increase lubrication in fuel).

Used Stanadyne Performance Formula several times. Not impressed. . from a emissions reduction & mileage gain.

I contacted them today and the 5 gal pail including shipping is $137. 45.

Now if I figured it our right the cost would be $1. 93 which is 9 oz for 30 gallons,

That is less than the others by far.

Of course my math leaves something to be desired at times.



The said to use 3 oz per 10 gallons.



No more than I drive I would never use up the 5 gallons before I'm to old to drive.



I'm in NE Oregon so if any one close by would like to split a pail let me know and we will see what what we can work out. I could use 2 gallons if some one wants the other 3.

When I first posted on how to order Amalgamated in '02 a 5 Gallon Container of #15 Diesel Additive ( Listed in the TDR article) is $50. 00 + $35. 00 Shipping. Total $85.



Maybe they have improved the formula since then?



TDR issue 36 page 24 has a good write-up by Gary. You can get a 3 ring binder notebook stuffed almost full of info Gary has done on Premium Diesel and tons of tests on Amalgamated fuel just by asking.

Hello

I purchased Amalgamated TDR-WDA to use in my Colorado elk hunt in November.

We were camped @ 9580 ft for ten days and the nights were below zero. My cummins sat the whole time.

Everyone waited to see if my cummins would start - first heat cycle it started up. No problem. This stuff works.

That doesn't neccessarily mean Amalgamated had anything to do with it. My CTD has sat in 22-25 below zero temps for days while snowmobiling around Grand Lake, Co and starts up on the first heat cycle, without any additives.

Hello

Great. I have lived in Colorado for 20 years and have great confidence in my Dodge Cummins for the past 13 years. Starting up @ -20 has been an issue in the past especially sitting for weeks at a time.

The only issue I think applies is that with this fuel additive I have had great

"LUCK" @ over 250,000 miles and all original equipment; feel that this product has helped at a reasonable cost, I could be wrong.

I got a 6-pack of quarts of TDR-S.



I pour it into a graduated bottle to measure 10. 5 ounces via a funnel. With the large mouth on the TDR-S quarts, I got a lot of spillage from the additive running down the side of the bottle. The mouth on the Power Service bottle is much smaller & won't get the spillage of the wide mouth.



Anway to add at least 1 cap something like this?

sorry to bring up an old topic but are you guys still liking this product? I am thinking about buying some, but I'm gonna try to find gary's article on additives since I don't have that issue. Also are you guys just buying it strait through their website?

Still using it, actully have bought another 5 gallons and split the product with other Dodge Ram buddies.

I stay with TDR-WDA all year around. My mileage is up to 22 mpg if I keep my speed down around 70mph. Without the additive I'm around 20. 9 - so for what is worth, in my humble opinion - this stuff helps. Just over 270,000 and no issues with pump's, filters of anything else''

I haven't noticed any ill effects from storage so far. The 5 gallon containers are opaque and fairly see through. The color and smell of the additive seems to be just like when I bought it. That is not scientific proof but I think it is a good additive and works. It is cheaper than Power Service when buying this way now that the price of PS has gone up and the "serving size" has gotten a LOT smaller.

Well gonna be ordering 2-2. 5 gal of tdr-wda and tdr-s. Gonna split it with my dad and everything I have read about it people have really liked it, plus its cheap.
