Just finished replacing my vp44 after 172k. Did the work myself. It was a little tedious but I took my time. It just quit. First major repair since doing transmission upgrade @35K. I thought my truck was just getting old cause it had been feeling a little sluggish last few years. The damn thing runs great! Throttle response is instant. Runs so smooth. Oh! I also replaced the crank shaft position sensor while I was at it.
