Thinking about the Dodgezilla for the 12V

I was running the 275's for a little while before I got my VA box. And boy did the box wake it up! And kill my clutch :(

Anyway, I really notice a lot of smoke from this setup if I do the typical low boost high throttle. It was my understanding that these injectors wouldn't really put out this much smoke.

I know I am not blacking out the sun or anything, but I can visibly see the cloud I leave from about a 1/4 mile after belching it out.

I got these injectors used, and have been loving them. But I have to wonder if they might be a little extra worn.

Oh, I just got my truck back last night from the d***** and with proper fuel pressure, I can belch out even more smoke! Or maybe that is helped by switching from the K&N to a BHAF as the same time.

I am still debating on what will be my next injectors, either the EDM mach 1. 5 or 2. Which ever I can use the most without having to worry too much about EGT's and still use the injector to it's fullest potential.

Any one close to Austin have a setup similiar to mine, or what I am thinking of, that I could see how much their truck smokes?

the van aaken is not adjustable like the edge ez, so it begins to add fuel right of the bat. that is why you are seeing smoke until your boost (airflow) can clear it up.

I would doubt the the injectors are worn out. I ran the same combo three years ago we the same results

low boost smoke

Yeah, I expected the low boost smoke with the VA, I was just unsure of how much there would be.

Sure do love the response from the combo though!

Froadin, with my 275's and a Ez I could put out some pretty good smoke, and even more before I found a boost leak, you might want to check that out. But with the Comp and 275's lots of smoke off Idle:rolleyes: Look in the Show us your Smoke Pics thread for that!

Bob's right. With an adjustable box like the edge or tst you can limit smoke and power. There is nothing wrong with the 275's. When I ran them I didn't get much smoke until I was at level 5 or higher with my tst box.

Thanks guys, makes me a little more comfortabel that all is well. I know my EGT's are easily controlled. I can barely get over 1000 running empty, and I am going a lot faster then I should by the time I hit that temp.

How do the EDM 1. 5 or 2's compare to the 275's for smoke?

I lost my injection pump and injectors to bad fuel on a trip down the Alcan. had a new pump and injectors installed in Oregon. I was told the injectors were 275 hp. mine is a 97 12v any thoughts about power produced? I have a #11 TST plate. are the 275 hp injectors for the 24v? someone had said that but i don't know.

AKTRAPPER,

How did they determine those were rv275's? It's my understanding you can't tell by just looking at them. I could see no difference in my stock one's and DD2's. Just wondering... .

Oh and 12v and 24v injectors are different... ... :D ;)

Could it just be that the injectors they sold you were rated at about 275hp? (although for a 12 valve engine) Normally when people refer to "275" injectors they're talking about a specific type of Bosch injector for the 24 valve engine.
