Has anyone tried to install the amp power steps on a gen2?I see Genos has them for 03 and later and amps site says they will fit 02 and later. Just found out the wife is pregnant and she said in a few months she aint jumping in and out of the truck. And by the way merry christmas all :)

I don't know if they fit the 2nd gen trucks. I would believe that they would. There are some smaller ones, not too sure of the brand, but they cost around $350 for a pair from Geno's and they should work. Maybe contact AMP and see what they say. I found these at Geno's: http://www.kodiakproducts.com/A_Showme.html They are smaller, but cost a whole lot less. I've thought about getting them, but got better things to do for $360...

Ive seen the kodiak steps the reason i like the amp steps are that they are longer and they tuck up behind the rocker panels. The kodiak steps still stick out a little.

The 02 1500's have the 3rd gen body hence the confusion. The rocker panels where they install are not the same for 2nd gen.

I ended up just going with the kodiac steps. Great step for the price and not too noticable when teir retracted. I looked at the 3rd gens and I think their rockers hang down further which lets the amps tuck out of site
