I know that the gauge goes into the - side of the scale and the lights dim only for a bit and then return for a few seconds and dim again. I know that this cycle is normal, as of late we have had some pretty cool weather is this diming cycle determined by the temperature. Reason im asking is that the cycle seems to have been a bit longer in duration. Meaning that it has cycled more times than usual, before returning to the + side of the gauge and being normal.

Thanks for any thoughts

As far as I know that cycle will continue until the air intake sensor is satisfied or until you go over 30 mph. The grid heaters will continue until one of those happen.

Normal. The grid heater length run time and cylce is driven by the ambient temp and IAT readings. The colder it is the longer it cycles. When the temp is down to endangering the brass monkeys, it is noticeable.

Thanks for the info gentlemen, good to know that the truck is normal, and still wondering if the driver is for going out in such weather!!!
