I have been looking at the AMSOIL web site and I was wondering if any of you have installed one of their bypass filters. Also which filtration kits did you install. Looking at the site the BMK-21 AND BMK-22 look like they might be applicable to my truck. Also does those kits come with all the hardware to install them, do I have to drill any holes, order any extra parts. Once you guys have installed them how often do you change the oil. Would it be worth it to go back to using Royal Purple Oil again. The filter that I am looking into ordering with it is the EaBP-110. Any thoughts or suggestions on this would be helpful.

I have one installed for about a year, I welded the bracket to the passenger side frame rail. (could have drilled and bolted) Installation was easy, need a crow foot + extension to tighten it. I use Amsoil diesel and have only 10,000 miles on it ,I will have it analyzed at about 20,000. All parts are included. I did it for several reasons, primarily I could not reach the stock filter due to a injury, secondly it may extend the life of the oil. Amsoil has a program allowing you to purchase at preferred prices do some web research. (on edit: just to be fair take a look at the Frantz filters also they use common toilet paper both fuel and oil. I would not hesitate to purchase those either.

I too have been looking at an Amsoil filters. On their web sight, they show a cool aluminum bracket that replaces the battery hold downs. I think it was for the oil filter on the passenger side battery. It lools like it will also work for the fuel filter setup on the driver side battery. please let us know what you choose to go with and how it works out.

I believe Royal Purple is not recommended for our diesels. It contains moly that, if over heated (high egts), will separate and clog the oil passages. I use Royal Purple in my dirt bike (HONDA FAT CAT ) and like it.

had mine bolted to front bumper underneath then moved it up next to my battery. installed amsoils preluber. use amsoil and tested it for 2. 5 years every six month and was still good oil. I now just change my filters once a year and my oil every two years. going on 200k. ya it is a great american company!.

did you all order the BMK21, BMK22, or the BMK25? Also if any of you did get the BMK22 OR BMK25 did you put on 2 of the bypass filters, or one bypass filter and one full flow. Also did you use the adapter to plug it in where the normal filter attaches, or did you put another amsoil full flow filter there?

The dual bypass kit replaces the factory filter spot with a adapter. The dual setup has one full flow filter and one bypass filter that filters 10% of the oil at a time. You do not want two bypass filters on your truck, The hoses from Amsoil are long enough to reach almost to the passengers side door.

I had mine bolted to the bottom of my front aftermarket bumper. Made oil changes a snap. I ran oil analysis at around 10-12K and it usually recommended changing the oil. Usually it was the trace amounts of metals in the high end of the normal range that caused me to have to do the oil changes. If the truck wasn't making more than twice the OEM power the oil probably would have lasted a lot longer. I replaced the hoses with steel braided units because the idea of the engine oil leaving the engine through traditional hoses made me a little nervous.

I have one of the single bypass one and have for the past 7 years. I have it mounted on a box that is around the pass side battery. There was a member here on TDR that used to fab these boxes and sell them, not sure if he is still around.

Just changed my oil for the first time in 3. 5 years with almost 45k miles on it just this past week, out of sheer "need" to in my mind. Tests always come back good to continue use. I change my full flow (fleetgaurd stratapore) every 5K and bypass every 10-15K depending on how it is flowing.

Amsoil bypass products and all their stuff for that matter are good to go.

edit: If I get a chance tommorrow I will try to snap some pics.
