I am going to be changing out my NV-4500 transmission fluid and would like to go with Amsoil Series 2000 75w-90. Will this be ok or should I stick with the stock fluid. I saw conflicting views on this when I searched the archives.

I ran it in my 5 speed for close to 42K miles. The analysis came back good and the transmission has never missed a beat. Having said that, I would recommend you crawl under your truck and read the PTO cover. You may also want to read Joe Donnelly's article in Issue 31 of the TDR. I decided to go with the factory fluid to avoid any possible denial of warranty service. The Mopar(Castrol) is good lube. You will need four quarts and the price should not be more than 16-17 bucks per quart from Dodge. Good luck.
