Amsoil Filter & Oil

I changed out everything (Eng,Tran,Transfer Case,Axles,Air Cleaner) to Amsoil & I noticed a difference as soon as I got on the road. I installed the air cleaner right after (same day) I installed the Xzillerator and what a difference. I am already noticing an increase in mpg & once I get over the Zillerator syndrome (if I do), I will buckle down and actually see what mileage I am getting. :--)

Well, I'm due for a new air filter, and I was thinking about buying an AFE set-up. However, after reading this post... . For the money, I'm going to order an Amsoil instead. Now I have a couple of quick questions:

Is is worth drilling holes in the stock air box in conjunction with the new Amsoil filter? If so how many and where? Does anyone have pictures?

Any help or tips would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

The farther away from the engine you can get the air the better, just pulling air from the engine compartment is not going to help as much as getting cool air from outside. Cool air is more dense than hot air and once it comes out of the turbo compresser it is even warmer because of the compression. So the cooler the air is going into the compressor the better off you are.

Just to let you guys know that are runnning any of the cold air kits like AFE or Air Raid etc. , Amsoil is comming out with replacement filters for those types of boxes. One of the pluses is that the center section is open. The new Ea filters are far better than the gauze type filters and yes our own foam filters, yes they flow the same but the Ea media will stop more dirt.

Yes I'm dealer but not brain washed, I just know that this technology is better.
My self and Amsoilman and other dealers have been to thelatest filter tour and had our eyes and minds opened up to some new ways to filter peoples needs.

Did the PSM cold air intake mod and put the new Amsoil filter on and I now see very little pressure drop at the turbo intake. Up to 10 psi boost the Juice monitor doesn't show any drop in suction pressure. Before it would start dropping in suction pressure at about 6-8 psig. WOT does not move the filter minder at all and before it would pull in at least half way.

I just wish there was some independent test done on the air filter. I wish Amsoil would step up to the plate here and PROVE that their product is better.

These filters were tested at an independent testing facility. Probably the best in the country! "Southwest Research Institute".
