Turbo Question

I noticed a few drops of oil under my truck. Took a look under hood and oil is comeing out of one of the mount holes at the bottom of my air box. It's been real hot here and looks as if the high temps are thining out the oil in the air filter. It's been in for about 5000 miles I wonder if I should clean it and reoil. Is this unusual or what. The turbo side of the box has a little oil but not much. HELP!!!!!

Don't sweat it.

Dude,

Don't worry about it too much. When I cleaned my Amsoil for the first time, my airbox looked like an oil bomb went off in there. Checked the turbo, no problem. Cleaning it and re-oiling it wouldn't hurt. Just don't use as much oil as it came with. It should be oiled enough such that when you sqeeze it, the oil comes off on your fingers, but does not pool around them.

Good thing you reminded me too. I need to clean mine.

Amsoil air filters are OVER-OILED when brand new. You are supposed to blot the excess oil off the filter.

Relax, you have the best filter money can buy.
