After seeing lots of ash and smoke dust from our fires on my turbine blades, I decided to can the K&N filter. I decided to go with an Amsoil unit, #TS106. It arrived today, and was installed in about 45 seconds after receipt. First impression: really tight fit, not over-oiled and quality appearance.
Thanks to Amsoilman! Next, the dual bypass oil filter.

Ol Ron,
Where did you get the filter and approx. what was the cost? Also, would the TS106 fit my 1997? I'm not liken what I'm hearing about the K & N filters and I'm not drilling a huge hole in my truck for their expensive set up.
Thanks.

FATCAT, call the 800 number on the Amsoil page:

The filter is under $50, but if you're a member it is under $40. Looks like a quality unit, nice and thick but supposed to flow good (check out Amsoil Part Number thread I starter). I really like my new filter.
