Which Amsoil or equivalent (redline etc. ) oil should I use for the NV4500??

Or which is the most common used?

Also, I know Redline MTL is the Cats MEOW!! MEOW!! for the 5600.

But, what are the other brand equivalents in synthetic?

If you want to use the Amsoil "brand", get the FGR-Qt 75W-90 for your NV-4500 trannie You can also get a hand pump (G-2039) to pump it in from the bottles.

Is there any dangers to using any of Amsoils gear oils in Manual trans applications. I know there are certain gear oils that are not compatible with yellow metals.

You are right, it seemed a little thin, I tossed the bottles, can't remember what it said on it. Redline oils seem to be thinner in viscosity than their counterparts of the same advertised weight. We use Redline 50W in the race motor and it looks like water, and the pressure is a little lower. I do know the 4500/motor in my truck and the race motor run a little cooler than they did on "Dino" oil :D

Somethings fishy here... ... first Justin ask's about timing a 12 valve, now he's asking about transmission oil for a NV4500 when his 3rd Gen has a NV5600

What are you up to bean pole? :p :-laf
