Don_m will be back....

Ok yall, no matter what has been said, Don had a good point when starting this thread. He wanted to know why it was not API aprroved, and AmsoilMan(I think) provided us with why from the website. Topic dead, move on. But this had to become worse. I am not here to say good or bad about Amsoil.....

Good luck getting any help now, Don, to get your HP up above where it is. I doubt that any vendor in his right mind is going to want to take the chance of dealing with you. Let alone any TDR member that has a modicum of common sense.

Gonna do it yourself? That's a monumental task, given the methods, actions, and attitudes you've shown here.

You remind me of the Terminator, the robot in the movie of the same name, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. You keep on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on... ... . beyond all human logic and reason.

Tact, grace, and courtesy are valuable character traits instilled in most of us by our parents or lessons in life. You exhibit none of these in your horribly stubborn insistence on continuing this thread. How pitiful.

Briar, I hold nothing but respect for you from all the posts I have read many of yours but, I must say that you are wrong about one thing,Don. I met Don a couple of weeks ago, and I tell you in all honesty, I think that he is without a doubt one of the nicest people on the TDR, bar-none. Don did not start this thread in a mean-hearted "Amsoil is bad, never use it" way that it turned to quickly. However the second post on the thread, not by Don, but rather Gene, it got dirty. There was NO reason for Gene to almost atack Don in the way he ALMOST did. I know that the history between the two is not buddy-buddy, but still.

Please don't think that "he is coming to his defence because..... ", just don't like bad things to be said about someone that I KNOW are not true. If the sitution were reversed, and Don called Briar a S. O. B. or whatever then I would post for Briar, like I have for Don, even without meeting Briar, that's the respect I have for him, and some others on this board.

Sorry, but I think this thread is toast!

Andrew

Hammer, I've found Don's posts very forthright. I never felt he was "trying to pad his post total", quite to the contrary my feeling from reading this very long thread was that Don was more than willing to let it end several times but people who have invested in Amsoil, either as users or dealers, are so upset by his viewpoint that they attack him personally... like you are doing.

And as far as your claims of people getting 400 h. p. from stock equipment...

sounds like you are the one who is "in your own little world". But to give you the benefit of the doubt, define, please, what is stock equipment?

Truthfully you are begining to sound like a guy I almost bought a '92 250 from, he claimed it got 38. 5 miles per gallon. Now maybe he REALLY did get 38. 5 and maybe you really do know people who are getting 400 h. p. out of "stock equipt"... but somehow I doubt it.

I thank Don for his information and I also thank others on this thread who have tried to separate fact from emotion.

Thank you for the kind words and that information, Andrew, I will take that in the spirit it was intended, with good grace. My main point here, is we all need to know "when to say when".

Look up above, Andrew, he's asking me if I'm a dealer. Intending to hammer home another one of his points, no doubt, mainly the one he's already made, that dealers have a vested interest in defending Amsoil. Well, of course.

That's an intent to continue, when we need to just let well enough alone. He won't let go of this topic, no matter what. Most people find that kind of stubborn persistence to be a very grating personality defect. I know I do. Maybe he's not like that in person. Well, good for him, and good for you. But this is the side we are seeing, and it's unattractive. Highly so. At least when the pit bull latches onto your leg, and gets lockjaw, you can do what it takes to remove him. Unfortunately, not the case in these forums. :D

I can refute his points about Amsoil dealers. (I shouldn't bother, as I don't see anything wrong with supporting a product you use and like, and find his "amsoholic" insults about dealers that do wear the clothing, to be childish and demeaning) I don't own any Amsoil clothing, other than a T-shirt. I don't have the stickers on my truck. I don't sell it, for a profit, or at cost, unless I'm asked for it by friends (and many do seek me out asking for it). I don't advertise it, though I should. I use it in my truck, and other vehicles. I've used it since 1980, with no hint of a leak in any vehicle. (my Cummins does leak, but it leaked BEFORE the oil went in, and hasn't gotten any worse)That's pretty remarkable. Not an "amsoholic" here, to use his stupid term. I do use dino oil here and there, in other vehicles, where I chose to.

The filter debate has been beat to death too. I will say here, however, two interesting field observations I've made. Some of my customers and Cummins owners have cut apart different oil filters , including the Amsoil filters, and were surprised at the visibly better quality of the internal construction and filtration medium of the Amsoil filters. Only the top dollar filters , like Fleetguard, were very comparable visually. By itself, that doesn't mean much.

Where I work, we've discontinued using Wix filters as we've found a better quality filter to use. I've had both Wix and Fram filters break apart on me. The Fram ruined an engine before I could shut it down. The loss of oil pressure due to a clogged pickup tube in the case of the Wix, I caught that in time, thanks to the gauges I had on my Camaro.

Don, let it go. You made your points. Attack, attack, attack, attack, over and over and over and over and over, again and again and again.....

Andrew, read Riflesmith's posts on this thread. That's wisdom and perception speaking, hardly any of us can say it better than he did.

The point I was trying to make is that the Amsoil attorney is also worked or working for other companies like Amway and Fuller brush. The MLM marketing thing is another part of my problem, but I will add that to a later thread.

Did you know that Amsoil has been sued by some of its own salesmen for MLM troubles?

Don~

I knew Amway had something to do with this... LOL

I don't use anything with a logo that reminds me of the Power Rangers... And the I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER is called Amsoil, good name!

To All:

Like I said before, if you don't like the stuff, don't use it. I know of four Cummins engines that leak like no tomorrow is in sight. And the owners have never heard of synthetic oils. Just bad mantainance. I have a leak at the front seal now. Is it Amsoil? I don't know. I have seen others leaking with petroilum oil . What caused that? What is in the oil to cause that problem? Explain it to me and you just might talk me out of Amsoil.

This subject is/should be for everybodys education. I didn't realiaze it was like a vampire. A stake does not need to be driven through it's heart. There has been enough pounding that all vampires are dead for sure. Now with that said, explain why the oil of subject causes leaks?

Thanks for listening/reading.

Looks like this horse has been beat to death, revived, and then beat to death again several times over! I've received many requests to close this thread. If anyone wants to make further comments on this start a new thread and try to keep it on topic please.
