Replaced the ATF+4 with amsoil and now it seems to slip in OD when you get on it at mid rpms. No load behind it and not mashing the throttle. Does the amsoil need a friction modifier added to it like in limited slip rear ends? DW

Atf+3

Yes they do, but the dealer serviced it last winter and used plus 4 and no ill effects. The amsoil must be that much better of a lube than the others. Was hoping to hear from someone who had used it before and see if it has happened to others. The trans. temps are lower than before also. DW

I ran amsoil universal atf+4 for 3 years in my modified dtt 91% transmission and it worked awesome, it is more slippery than the mercon/detron atf 3 but it does provide more positive shifts.

I switched to mercon for firmer shifts and less expensive.

I bet Stefan will chime in :)
