Will the regular Amsoil oil filter (SFD-80 I think) thread on the Amsoil single bypass unit.

I know you all will think this is a dumb idea, but I'm looking for a way to run 2 standard oil filters.

Thanks for the help,
Ryan

Cooker,
To answer your question regarding the use of the SDF-80 on the remote (single by-pass unit/BMK-11), the answer is NO!! It will not screw on the mount!

Thanks Wayne,

That's what I wanted to know. How about another question then?

I am thinking of installing a bypass and continue to run dino oil, sorry. My problem is that when I change my oil I don't want to leave the 1-1. 5 quarts of oil in the ByPass filter, and at $22 each I don't want replace it every time I do an oil change. Although I wouldn't have a problem paying another $9-10 for a std. filter.

I think the extra filter would obviously be a benefit. Again, my logic may not follow along the lines of most, but I'm just toying with the idea right now.

Thanks for the input,
Ryan

Better filtration will help ANY oil is my feeling.
I have another guy right now doing this in Mich. ????? What's up with you guys?

How about takeing the by-pass off and letting it get a good drain, and reinstall??

I'd think you would still be ahead of the game.

What's up with us Michiganders?

I think it has to do with lack of sun. I read something the other day that stated Holland, MI (which is about 1/2 hour from me) is one of the BOTTOM 10 cities in the lower 48 for the annual days of sunshine.

Someday I have to get out of Michigan.

Anyway,
Other than the ByPass filter itself, is there another Amsoil filter that will fit the ByPass unit?

Thanks

Cooker,
Amsoil has made the single mount remote(BMK-11) so that only filter elements such as the BE-90, BE-100, and BE-110 filter elements, wll screw on the remote unit. Remember, the remote mount has an "orifice" in the return side of the mount which restricts the flow of oil. This restriction is there for a very important reason, so one would have to remove the orifice to do what you want. This can be done, but I do not know any other filter elements that will screw onto the remote unit.
If you are so set in using regular dino oil, with a by-pass filter, then I would suggest you do as Gene said.
