I am on my second ea air filter. The first one got damaged from the airbox filling with snow, wasn't the filters fault though. I always carry a spare paper filter in the toolbox if I plan on doing any deep snow running. I think the stock airbox is sufficent enough with the ea filter and silicon in my uoa's have always looked great.

I have amsoil air filter no problems at all . Check out my sig. every thing i am currently using works very well . P/S i like my smarty jr. much more than edge juice with attitude.

Amsoil cone-type drop-in.

I don't think Amsoil has a cone-type drop-in for the stockbox. I pm'd a couple of Amsoil guys and got nothing. You'd think it'd sell like wildfire.

I believe the PSM guy liked the AFE ProGuard-7, drop-in filter the best. He tried a number of filters in his product.

He lives in the Denver area & his truck has enough guages to qualify as a cockpit on a 747. He is an engineer (as I recall) and did serious studies with his product. Would test in the mountain grades (I-70) to create the best product possible.

He has his testing documented & you can read the results.

Give him a call for a filter recommendation with his product.

I have the Nano drop in (just like the original) with my home made cold air intake. Pics in Readers Rigs. The stock filter would pull the filter minder down before and after the cold air mod. Nano doesn't pull it down. Engine is still running, so I'm assuming it's working... :D

I sucked my Amsoil filter full of snow just driving down the highway. I tapped the snow out. It didn't seem to hurt it. I don't have fog lights but I didn't route my air intake to the fog light hole. Some sort of screen might be necessary to keep snow out.

nano filter worked great, I started with an air intake kit and had to much trouble keeping it clean bugs ect, switched to the amsoil filter and does just fine cleans easy and is better for performance than stock and the intake kit. .

Mine never seemed clean after 'cleaning' it per the instructions. After a few months of running it & 'cleaning' it regularly, it was sucked into the torque tube.

Now I stick with the stock paper element filters & replace them more often.

I'm leaning your way on this. The vacuum method did nothing. 20psi air appeared to do a marginal job. If I increased the pressure it looked liked it would tear the nano media to shreads so I backed off. Haven't pulled the filter minder down yet. I'll be ordering a Fleetguard filter from Genos to have on hand just in case.

AEM dry drop-in.

AEM's offering a drop-in panel dry type now also. They claim everything we want to hear also. A cleaning kit is offered. Anybody?
