Amsoil Dual Bypass Modified for use with Stratapore filter

Has anyone looked into the compatibility for using the Amsoil Dual Bypass Mount with Fleetguard Stratapore filters? What I mean here is I am sure that the thread adapter on the dual bypass block is not the same as the Dodge standard location. I would like to go to this dual bypass mount, use an Amsoil bypass filter and a standard Fleetguard FL3894 Stratapore filter instead of the Amsoil full flow. I already have CPFF billet mounting adapter for the stock location and in combination with this and some custom Aeroquip SS lines, It would be the ultimate killer filtration setup.



Any body with some ideas or feedback? Possibly changing the threaded portion?

Why in the the world would you go to all that trouble buying top of the line filter mounts, and then put an inferior filter on it?

I would love to be able to use Stratapore filters with my dual bypass. As soon as i got the dual remote bracket i called Amsoil and i asked why the Amsoil full flow filter inlet and outlet holes were so small compared to the Fleetguard and they told me "Thats how we make them, but the decrease in flow is not that much".

My oil pressure has definatley dropped by almost 5psi since i installed the system. So the fact that the bracket is "Top of the line" still does not make me happy that i have less oil pressure and flow. I have the "CPFF" billet adaptor and braided stainless lines with full flow AN fittings so there is nothing else i can do to get the flow back to where it was except put a better filter on it, so yes, i would be interested in some kind of adaptor to make the Stratapore work with it, although, i cant see any way of reliably doing that.

Since I haven't seen the filter block or the filter that fits on it, from your comments above, do you mean the outlet threaded boss is smaller than the Stratapore? If this is the case, even more reason to go with the CORRECT filter for the Cummins. More flow the better, especially with the extra bends, corners, lines that are presenting the additional restriction.



MGM: While I appreciate the quality of the Amsoil lubes and oils, (I use them in all my vehicles, even race car) I happen to feel that you can't beat the qaulity of the Stratapore filters an d heft of construction. Of course, you have to say what you siad being the Dealer and such. Not wanting to start anything, just my opinion



If the threaded boss in the filter block is steel and and threaded into the block (I'm sure it is), then make a new threaded adapter and screw into place? Emddiesel?

Instead of rigging up an adaptor you might see if Fleetguard makes a stratapore filter which directly replaces the Amsoil SDF 26 (Amsoil oil filter used on the dual remote filter system for our application) The SDF 26 has the following dimensions: diameter 3. 69", thread size 0. 75 x 16, Gasket I. D. 2. 46", Gasket O. D. 2. 81". With some Luck Fleetguard will have a stratapore oil filter with those same dimensions along with meeting the construction and flow requirements for the ISB application



Amsoil makes an adaptor (part # BP-176) which will convert the 0. 75 x 16 thread size on the BMK 15 to 1. 0 x 16 thread size (I believe this is the same thread size used on the Stratapore LF 3894)

If the Fleetguard's were better, I would run them. And I would admit it!

My truck comes before any sales.

Call Fleetguard and Amsoil, get the specs.

Before the site went down, someone else was just asking about the filtering capabilities of these two filters.



Remember, Fleetguard had to change their filter design for the 24 valves, Amsoil was already a step above that point.

I'll check this out and post the results. If in fact this is the case, the smaller opening (outlet) of the filter will decrease flow. The 3/4-16 thread is very common in the industry. It is a common Ford oil filter thread. In the mid-eighties, we were looking for alternatives for our Datsun/Nissan Race cars. Guess what - Yep, 3/4-16 thread. Use all kinds of Ford style adapters.



Anybody else with suggestions?
