Here are some pictures of a bracket and heat shield I built for the new Amsoil eaAu4510 Filters. Everything is made of Cald Rolled Steel and the bracket is painted with high gloss black and the shield is painted with flat black high temp paint. The 4510 has a 4. 500 opening, so I cut my BHAF flange off and stuck it in the new filter and it sealed the gap between the filter and the 4" intake pipe. -Jason

Nice job Jason - but ya gotta do some better color-coordination with those bungee cords - they clash with each other and the filter material - probably rob extra HP as well! :-laf

I got my filter this past week, and will eventually convert from the current BHAF as well, copying your design setup.

Do you have any early impressions of difference in noise or operation characteristics between the BHAF and the Donaldson? Also, did you adapt the filter minder to the Donaldson?

I drilled my BHAF for the filter minder, and will probably do the same with the Donaldson.

No Dan they don't have one with a 5" outlet. They go from 4. 5 to 6.

And Gary trust me I am looking all over for BLACK bungees. You buy a 4 pack and they are multi colored. I trying to find a sourse online where I can buy all one color. I also was going to take your lead with the filter minder and put it on the nano filter. I didn't have it on the BHAF. I would like to know what size hole you drilled to make it work? As far a noise goes it is a bit louder. I really haven't put my foot in it yet. My truck is all stock. Let me know if I can help you with this. -Jason

As I recall, the hole for the filter minder grommet was 3/4 inch on mine - I'm wondering if the end cap material on the Donaldson might be soft and thin enough to not need that grommet - will know more when we get past this zero degree weather and I can work on the truck.
