Going to change the fluids on my 2002 CTD 4x4. Changed over to Amsoil on my 06 in the trans (G56) and have had awesome results. . How are you liking the AMSOIL in the trans???? I believe it's MTL? Thanks! :D

I'm running AMSOil MTF in my NV-5600. I REALLY REALLY like it.

Tip. . take bottom bolt out of drivers side pto cover to drain. After drain, take off PTO cover and use turkey baster or mityvac to suck excess fluid from bottom of case. Re-install PTO cover using black RTV, install all bolts except for the top middle one. Torque the rest of the bolts to spec. Use a cheap hand pump from wal-mart to pump 5 full quarts into transmission.

works like a champ. For the 5600 anyway...

I,m running AMSOIL in my NV-5600, front and rear axles. great oil!! Truck starts going a lot easier on these cold mornings than my trucks without it

I've been running AMSOIL 75w-90 full synthetic in my NV-5600 for over 300,000 mi. It's the only way for me to fly! Never have had the transmission/clutch off the bellhousing and no problems yet... . and those miles were pulling loads GROSSLY exceeding the GCVW!

How are your transmissions shifting, any notchiness or hanging up between gears? Just put my $3k rebuild in because I lost 3rd and 4th and this thing is hard to get into gear, have trouble finding certain gears depending whether the trans is hot or cold or somewhere in between. Reaaly starting to aggevate the you know what out me, already lost out on 2 $500 days this week. Going by the shop that did this last one and see what they have to say.

I think it shifts like a car. Real nice, no notchiness. Do a search, some guys are adding lubeguard and amsoil lim slip additive and having even better results.

Mine does alright, but at slightly more than 10k, the notchiness is coming back...

Amsoil is the best oil I have found to date... Redline MTL is a close second. I had the worst results with Royal Purple SynchroMax...

I am still debating on changing back to OE fluid (maybe even try buying it from GM) and see how it does...
