I am getting ready to do an oil change on my truck. I figure i may as well go to Synthetic this time around.

So i call Amsoil direct to order a replacement full flow filter and Bypass filter for my Dual Bypass kit. Plus i was going to get a case of 12 quarts of the 5W-30 diesel oil plus a 1 gallon container to keep around for topping off. Now, i SPECIFICALLY said, "ARE ALL THESE ITEMS IN STOCK AND READY TO SHIP?" and she said "Oh yes, absolutley" (those were the exact words). Well the order came today and the bypass filter is BACKORDERED. Then i look at the oil, and they sent me 5 ONE GALLON containers. I checked the invoice and it says "HDD-01" which is 12 quarts. So i call them up and by the way, getting through to them takes forever, if its not busy, you are on hold for AT LEAST 10 minutes. Almost 20 minutes later i get someone on the phone and tell them the problem. "Oh, hold on" they tell me, 10 minutes later she is back "We did'nt ship the filter becasue we are out of it" NO F***ING KIDDING!!!. I told her forget it, cancel the backorder and forget sending me 12 quarts, i am keeping th 4 gallons at YOUR expense. And told her "Do NOT charge me for the difference for YOUR mistake".

Why did i even bother dealing direct. I should have just called one of the TDR members who is a dealer and actually knows what they have in stock. Any members want a customer??

I'm not a dealer but I get my stuff from CPFF in Lebanon CT. He's about 10 minutes away from me. He usually has the oil we need in stock. I know you got your bypass system from him .

If you need me to meet you half way, NO PROBLEM. ( I'll be getting a bypass system soon anyway) :D

By the way, How do you like your bypass setup? How long do you go before you change your filter?

I just got a private message to remind me about him, it totally slipped my mind. I just ordered the bypass filter cartridge from his wife. I love the bypass setup, his battery mount is beautiful. Real heavy duty and the finish on it is better then the paint DC uses!. I am going to do 10,000 mile oil changes once i put the synthetic in. Will do oil sampling every 6-7K. At the time he did not have the stainless line assemblies so i made my own. But they are definatley worth the investment.

By Pass filter

If your going to use a bypass filter you will be able to go longer than 10000 on your oil. I have been using the 5w30,change filter at 5000 and oil/filter at 10000. Been using the 5w30 since I had my 95. I don't take any samples but if you do you will see that you can go farther. Still have bypass filter I bought for 95 that I never did put on. Long story and a few trucks, accident in between.

i feel really fortunate to have a direct jobber in san carlos (did i mention i just bought a house there?) that has a store front. really nice guy and has a ton of stuff in stock. john burke in san carlos... check it out all you sf bay area guys.

I have been getting my Amsoil from a friend near here. He delivers it to my door and brings me an occasional orange juice at no extra charge! After reading this, I will thank him again.

I have never had any problems with ordering from the Amsoil folks. Very polite and I usually have my order in a day or two. Lately I have been ordering from MGM, which of couse is first rate service. I have nothing but good to say about my experience with the Amsoil products and service. Order from MGM next time, you won't be sorry !

:D :D :D :D :D

Wow, the filter i ordered YESTERDAY from "CPFF" arrived today!. I just changed my oil and filters and have switched to 5W-30 Synthetic. And i did'nt run over the drain pan this time!

EMDDIESEL, did you order the trick billet aluminum block adapter from CPFF? What an awesome part... both functionally and aesthetically... one of the best most worthwhile accessories I've added to my Ram.

I do have CPFF's billet block adaptor and also his custom battery mount. They are both great. They were so nice i almost did not want to install them.

AMsoil

I live in the Cocoa Florida area and have not had the first bit of trouble either calling amsoil direct or going to Orlando to pick it up. I love Amsoil. Ron in Cocoa

That's excellent EMDDIESEL! I didn't purchase CPFF's battery mount as I didn't have the room for anything in that location with part of my Air Bulldog induction system right there in the way. I had to fabricate my own oil filter mount (machined billet aluminum of course :D ), which is located on the frame crossmember. The filters are mounted horizontally with a 10 degree downward, rearward bias. This allowed the filters to JUST BARELY clear (with adequate clearance) the oil pan and the sway bar.

..... talk about threadin' the needle when designing and fabricating that bad boy.

... builds character

CPFF parts

EMDDIESEL (or anyone else, for that matter),

Can you post a picture of CPFF's battery mount? It is for the dual remote, right? I'm sure it's been discussed before, but how does one acquire these great parts? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks,

David

CPFF's Email is -- email address removed -- I have his battery mount, Here is a picture of the mount and 2 of his filter adaptors. These parts are BEAUTIFUL. As i mentioned, the finish on the battery mount is amazing. An the way it is installed, it will not even touch the battery. #ad

Thanks EDM

Thanks, EDM. The picture looks great. I want them, but I first have to find out if I'm going to be employed much longer. I think unemployment won't allow for much toy buying. But, I'm going to do my best.

Thanks,

David
