Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Amsoil NANO filter came with PREFILTER?

I just got my Nano air filter form Amsoil for my 24V 2002. It came with a foam pre filter attached. None of the fleetguards or Mopar filters ever had this. They do for my 07, but not the 02,,,, How am I supposed to clean it when it needs it????? You have to blow from the back or suck the debris out the front!!! Anybody else get this??? It fits just fine in the filter box!! Thanks!!

I have a cone AMSOIL filter. I suck the dirt out with a shop-vac. My stock air filter on my 01 came with a pre-filter attached to it. -Jason

The Fleetguard filters from Cummins for the 2002 and older CTD used to come with a foam "precleaner". Now they don't. It's part of the filter and doesn't come off Shadrach

Thanks so my question is NOW..... How do I clean the darn AMSOIL NANO like it says on the box with this pre filter on it???? The 2007 version for my new truck has NO Pre filter! ( Stock one does). Your supposed to blow air from the back or suck the dirt out the front... How do I do this with the foam pre filter???

Blow it from the back side. The dirt that is in the filter will blow out as well as the dirt in the pre-filter. You can also use a shop- vac on the pre-filter and get all the big dirt off the surface. -Jason

Thanks!! THat answers my question. I will have a slight problem as I don't own a air compressor. I always use my shop vac on low setting to suck the dirt from the front... Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

That might just do the trick. You are only supposed to use about 35 PSI when cleaning them anyway. -Jason
