All I said in my original post was that AMSOIL WAS NOT API certified. It still isnt.

And that your engine warranty REQUIRES API certified oil.
It still does.

My choice is still dino oil and regular changes, nothing I've seen in this thread has changed my mind. Infact, there is considerable support staying with regular oil and regular servicing, and they know their Cummins will outlast them.

Obviously you have me on your 'do not view' list. If you read my posts and did the research yourself, you would see that *no* diesel engine lube is API certified, because API do not certify diesel engine lube. Thus DC cannot require it. Period. End of story.

Moderators, I believe this thread now needs to be shut down.

I was just wondering?

Can I use "used" transmission fluid instead of oil in my CTD engine? If I can would it be better to use "used" transmission fluid from a DTT transmission or ATS transmission, are these transmissions API "Certified"? ;) Would this void my warranty?

Sorry, I've been drinking Dewars and water while I've been reading all of these threads. I think I mixed up the oil and transmission threads

Let's Call It A Day On This Thread

Well, I just logged on this morning, and it looks like a few of you are having a tough time keeping this a productive technical discussion. So, let's call it a day on this thread. I'll go ahead and close it. I'm not sure what else can be said.

I trust we can find consensus on this decision (chuckle).

Remember, oil is like a religion. You'll never get everyone to agree on the correct answer.

There was a lot of good discussion on oils in this thread. Hopefully, it will serve as good reference material for new TDR members.

Thanks again!
