My first experience with Amsoil was in a '38 ft Hatteras with twin Detroit 6-71's. The engines would use about 2 qts every three hours during cruise each. Switch to Amsoil, and the exhaust temps go down 30 degrees, and oil comsumption stops completely. If temps go down, that means friction is reduced.
Second use was a MB 300D that used 1 qt every 700 miles. Switch to Amsoil, and consumption stops (15-40 marine).
Now I buy the Dodge, break in for 10K with regular oil, and then switch to Amsoil. Fuel economy went up 1 mpg, and I use no oil between changes. The truck is on 5-30w series 3000. I have Amsoil throughout the vehicle now.
I would put it in my airplane if they made an oil for aviation. This stuff is the best.
