Slightly frustrated... I'm looking for some good quality open gear lubricant. I've ordered the Amsoil 5th Wheel and Open Gear Lubricant in an aerosol can in the past. I couldn't find it on the new Amsoil website, so I called. After speaking to a couple people, it appears they don't make it anymore (they didn't know why), and didn't plan on making it. I searched Ebay, and every online store I could find, and I couldn't find any in stock anywhere. In frustration, I decided to try to find the Schaeffer's version (#322 Black Beauty open gear lube). I found it quickly on their website, but they don't allow you to order online. I searched again with every place I could find online, and again, none was to be found. I called the Schaeffer's number without much better luck. After talking to a couple people, I was told that they only sell that product to a few people (and thus I inferred that they didn't want to sell it to me for whatever reason???). Instead, they recommend I use another product, #200S Silver Streak. I agreed, and said I would like to purchase it in an aerosol can. He said they didn't offer it in an aerosol can (even though the website shows it, and calls it multi lube spray) http://www.schaefferoil.com/silver-streak-lube.html. Again, frustrated, I said, okay, well however you would agree to sell it to me is how I would like to buy it. So, he mumble something and transferred me to another customer service. Well, customer service was a voice recording saying that noone was available to take my call

I guess there's no point to this thread, other than I'm frustrated. I've put in a request with Schaeffer's on two separate occasions to become a dealer of their products. I've even considered opening a side business and actually stocking enough product that it could be useful to someone. They've never responded. Each time I call, I feel like I get the brush off and no body wants to be bothered. The one local rep of Schaeffers has no interest in ordering anything for me if it's not one of the 2 products he carries. It's no wonder some businesses are struggling these days...

Schaeffers is the best.
They require you to go to school to be a rep.
Pm me if you want more info.
( I use to be a rep)

Lubriplate. Some of the best and most experienced chemists in the world, with real world working experience. They actually test their products on what they intend to use it for..... http://www.lubriplate.com/Products/Spray-Lubricants/Gear-Shield-Extra-Heavy.aspx

Orielly's can get it; my store carries it just for me, and has started selling to other farmers in the area. We use it mostly for combines, on the unloading augers, clean grain augers, and basically anything that's not belt driven... . The cotton strippers also get heavy doses of it... ... http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/d....oap?ck=Search_N0411_-1_-1&pt=N0411&ppt=C0139
