which oil filter is better the amsoil or the fleetgaurd? What does each filter to-3 microns?

I also found the premo plus oil by-pass system and it filters out 3 microns. every 75 particles of 3 or bigger only one passes through the filter + 98. 7 efficient. it is in issue27. is anyone using this system with a stratapore filter?

I have never heard of a full fow filter filtering down to -3 microns. As for what filter is better in the stock location, i would go with Fleetguard Stratopore.

Jacob082, I have had very good oil analysis results with the Amsoil full flow and bypass filters in conjuntion with my Amsoil Dual Remote Bypass filtration system. I have also switched to Amsoil Series 3000 5W-30 synthetic.

John, that is exactly the reason I am an Amsoil dealer. I am running my first SDF-80 oil filter. I've always had good analysis results with the Fleetguard Stratapore's. If I see the numbers improve I'll stick with the Amsoil filters, but if they are the same I'm going back to the Fleetguard filters. The Fleetguards are cheaper, even taking into account I get the Amsoil stuff at cost.

This is the info I got from Fleetguard and Amsoil literature:

Fleetguard 3894 (Stratapore) and 3552 (Microglass):

100% efficient @ 30 microns

73% efficient @ 10 microns

Amsoil Super Duty Filters:

98% efficient @ 20 microns

65% efficient @ 10 Microns

Not really an apples to apples comparison, but it's all I have been able to come up with.

I just got an analysis back, with 20,000 miles on my Amsoil 15W40 HDD and using Stratapore filters, my iron count was only 41ppm. I know it would be even lower with bypass filtration, but I can't complain about 41ppm over that distance using 3 filters.
