Want power go F.M.S.

When converting over to the use of AN fittings and adapters, such as Aeroquip or Earls, how tight should one tighten the -6 x M12 Weber adapters to the lift pump for example. Stock ft-lbs torque or less? I notice they sell the AN wrenches so I figured "hand" tight was sufficient if using these wrenchs. I dont need a broken off adapter in the VP44 port. I've never really worked with such small aluminum threads. Dont wanna strip nothing. And do you use the sealing washer on the adapters? Thanks. :)

Neil, your thinking is right on... they don't sell those AN wrenches with short, sharp handles for no reason. For the Weber fittings, I went hand tight then just a tad more ( by feel) with a short wrench. For the AN hose ends, etc. , I get them snug by hand, start the truck and then tighten them just enough to stop 'em from weeping, no more. I use Permatex #2 on all my fuel line fittings, works well. Just use a small amount on the threads, keeping it away 'nose end' of the male AN fittings for a good seal.

An torques

You are correct in thinking the an's require less torque. If you overtorqe them you can pull the threads right off. Hand tight plus one flat (1/6th of a turn) will get you in the ballpark. With an fittings less is more. copterdoc
