I have a 98 12 valve diesel that is on it's third oil pressure sender worn out at on 108K miles where the pressuse says ZERO on and off when idling with the chime about to drive me crazy. I went to the local Dodge Dealer to get the TSB 8-22-99 done but they never heard of such a reprogram. He said there are too many TSBs to look it up. Can it be done by someone other than them?

Has anybody ever converted to an Isspro 100 PSI oil pressure sender to get rid of the phony factory one that costs hundreds to buy? Any kits out there ready to go? Does anybody know the resister readings of the Dodge original sender? It should have variable resisters in it.

Thanks for any advise. Herb;)

Hi Herb, my sender now works 100% since the last time I wrote about my sender with you, go figure, wiggling the conector seemed to have fixed it at least for now. I contacted Geno's Garage about selling the correct OE fit

12V CTD Sender, they reponded saying they will carry it in their next catalog. I hope they can sell it at a resonable price, they have been pretty good over the years.

have you priced out the sender from Cummins? It's usually cheaper than Dodge. The p/n for the sender for my 97 is 3923200. Yours should be the same, but send me your ESN and I will verify it. Shadrach

I'm wiggling my connector tomorrow. Can't hurt. I believe the sender number is the same. I haven't tried Cummins. What is an ESN? Is it an engine serial number? Where do I find it? Thanks, Herb

I was under the impression that the oil pressure sender goes through the PCM,I have changed mine twice with no success, have a mech. one now ,no guessing

The ESN is the Engine Serial Number and is located on a tag mounted on the gear housing, which is where the fuel inj pump mounts to. It is 8 digits long and contain no alpha just numeric. Should start with 56 or 45 depending on which plant the engine was built in. Shadrach
