2016 Daytona 500

dry eys and lipiflow (?)

My last brand new American car, was a 92 V6 Dodge Shadow, and will be my last new American car. I've always been partial to Dodge trucks, even before the 2nd Gen truck revolution that saved Chrysler in my opinion. FCA will probably retool the plants for Fiat based cars, if not the same Fiat cars.

FCA (particularly Sergio) has been publicly courting Ford and GM for several months. I'm not aware of any response from Ford but Mary Barra essentially told Sergio to pound sand.

FCA is in a real mess and the latest decision to farm out the small passenger cars is proof of that. I don't foresee cheap oil sticking around long term and when it's gone FCA's bigger is better strategy is gonna tank. Never mind the 2025 CAFE standards they should be preparing for but are completely ignoring. They must plan on buying lots of credits when the time comes. Right now the entire company is riding on the coat tails of RAM and Jeep sales. Wonder how long it will last.

Amen. I wonder if they take Ram and Jeep and become a truck manufacturer, if that would work? They could bring some medium fiats over.

If anyone does take FCA it will be for the Ram-Jeep product line. These products would seem to be a good fit for Honda or Hyundai as they are not currently strong in the US truck/SUV market. That might be a good thing for improved quality control and I don't think either produces a heavy duty diesel and would stay with the Cummins.

I read the "Autoextremist" blog every week, and Peter D. has been an extremely harsh critic of Sergio from day one. He had his number, and has accurately predicted exactly what is taking place.
It really looks bad. I sure hope some Cerberus type raiders don't come along...
