The high pressure line from the power steering pump the the hydraboost brakes started to leak near the upper connection so I ordered up replacements from Geno's. They arrived yesterday and I put them in.

Holy lurching stop Batman!!

When I applied the brakes for the first time I nearly gave myself whiplash and it took a 100 mile trip to readjust to the brake pedal pressure difference. What use to take my whole foot now only takes my big toe.

When I got back to the barn I did an ABS "test"... and found that the FRONT brakes locked up and released... ... that's never happened before. Only the back brakes. (and then I got the putty knife out and pried myself off the windshield)

Postmortem on the old hose revealed that it had delaminated and although showed no physical restriction, when pressure was applied the fluid would get between the laminates and bulge the inside creating a restriction.

Interesting post, thanks.
How many miles on the truck and/or hoses.

Something for me to think about as I have a hose seal leaking,

Tom
