Well, I agreed with the first verdict, can't say the same for the second. I felt the death penalty should have applied but like I said above, the decision should be final and I accept the finding of the jury. They had all the facts in front of them and they were the ones that had to decide her fate. Sorry she will be eligble for parole in 40 years but she might have a chance to visit her kids graves that way if she lives long enough.



Now we will have to listen to all of the BS about how she is crazy and should be found innocent due to insanity. Too bad when this sort of thing happens that once the decision is out, that is the end of the discussion.

I hate to ruin everyone's wishful thinking, including mine; however, I heard that she will be segregated from the rest of the population, because I'm sure they're full aware of the prison justice.

I have read most of the posts here and would like to see feedback on this:



Have any of you guys ever had a relative or friend become mentally ill? Dad passed away due to Alzheimers and his last months were spent in a "home", this home was nothing but a money making dumping ground for the mentally ill, SO SAD!



The stigma attached to mental illness is undenieable and with our poor excuse for medical attention mental illness is just a time bomb when not treated correctly. So, should the medical practice be held accountable to a degree? If your mechanic unknowingly makes your car a hazard and that hazard causes death or injury, they can be sued.



This woman was obviously sick and displayed it to all by taking the lives of those precious children, why was she allowed to have these children in her "care" with her condition?



If you spank your child and leave a mark chances are you will go before a court and face the possibility of losing him or her, yet a obviously sick, mental case was left to "care" for these children!



Does Texas have DCS (Department of Child Services)?

I agree that she was mentally ill, however not insane. She reverted back to animal instinct and destroyed her children, just like an animal who senses she cannot take care of the litter. This is sad and there were plenty of warning signs present, but no one took them serious enough to take action.



We can pass judgment and put her to death, but aren't you doing the same thing as she did when you do this? I don't want to have to pay for her, so lets kill her? Man, thats a little hypocritical... .....



The whole thing is tragic and was preventable. I think we need to take a closer look at the people around us and try to prevent it from happening again. In my book the husband is just as responsible as she was. Was he that blind that he couldn't see the warning signs? The interesting thing is that I heard that he told his mother inlaw " I have never changed a diaper and never will. " . What is wrong with this picture?

Wrong information. This guy had his wife in the hospital, and in therapy and on medication, he even had his mother come and help with the wife and kids for the last three months, based on the facts he was more of a Mr. Mom then 95% of all the fathers out there. I don't think he should be judged. He relied on the doctors and they let him down. I get a kick out of this. If a husband would of killed his kids everyone would be feeling sorry for the wife. When a wife does it then the husband should of done something to prevent it. It is to easy to be a Monday morning quarter back. This guy has lost everything, lets give him a break!!!

I think she's seriously messed up. Should be DROWNED/ all most to death 4 times then the 5th "dunking" been drowned to DEATH just like she did to HER 5 kids:--) The husband has issues of his own that should be dealt with very soon! He's pretty messed up too! He seems to believe she shouln't have gone to prison for it. and in all reality (if that is ok to use- reality) He is part of the reason she reverted back to an "animalistic state of mind" and killed them. so he and all the Doctors that said she was O. K. should go to prison for ~3 years.

Just my 2+ cents. I'm sure there is more that what we're told to.
