Anit-sway hitch?

Okay guys, I have a 25' bumper pull trailer that weighs about 7000 lbs empty. I currently live in North Carolina and I am getting out of the military and I'm moving back to Oklahoma soon. I pulled the trailer from OK to NC with no problems at all. Now the trailer is loaded and it weighs 13,700 lbs. I have not had it out on the road yet to see what it is going to do but I have a feeling it is going to sway really bad. It is 30' from tongue to tail and measured from the ground to the top it is 10' tall. I dont know if I am even going to need an anti-sway hitch or not, but I figure I will. Has anyone pulled a trailer that size and that heavy, and how did it pull. What anti-sway hitches are good?

The only hitch I can recommend, and this is from first hand experience. . I had this and loved it. . for a 14K TT this is the one for you. .

Now it is expensive but so is your trailer... if your trailer was about 30K. . this is about 10 % of it...



This hitch doesn't reduce sway, it eliminates it... makes it tow like a 5t wheel...



they have a free video they send you... get it, watch it... you'll agree. .

Thanks Eric, I checked out that hitch but I dont think I can afford that one. I was looking for one that is under $400. 00. I know I wont get the results that the Hensley Hitch would provide, but I simply cannot afford that much. Any other ideas?

anything that reese or surepull makes would be a good place to look...



Look at some trailer supply places and see what they have... usually they have pretty good stuff.

I use an equalizer hitch for my bumper pull... less then 400. 00 and is much better then MOST sway control hitch set ups... stay away from the friction type as they are old school and dont do a good job on long, heavy trailers... . My bumper pull is 35 feet from tongue to tail (look at my pictures)... . the Equalizer does the job perfect... . now I do have a dually which helps... set up the hitch correctly and you will see that it takes alot of the stress of towing long heavy travel trailer ... . The hensley is nice but my trailer better be swaying alot for the 3g's they want for that deal... . they are VERY proud of it... and to each his own. . Hensley owners... please no flamin!! :-{} asI was just tryin to help a brother out!!!!

Thanks Cameron!!!! I really like the way the Equalizer looks!!! I'll give it a try. Thanks to everyone else that has given some input also!!! You guys are GREAT!!!!!!
