Annoying Front Seat "Play"

I've been experiencing this annoying problem - driver's seat (6 way power)seems to rock backward when accelerating, and shift forward when stopping. Appears to be coming from the seat portion itself, not the seatback or headrest. The movement is not profound, but definitely enough to notice (sometimes feels like I'm on a rowing machine). I checked the bolts that mount the set to the floor and they are tight.



Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on a fix? Maybe a dealer/warranty issue?

i've noticed it a few times on my truck, but i haven't found where something is loose. i suspect that the dealer would say it is normal

I've got it too, annoying to say the least.

Mine's the same. I think it's a sloppy rail system for the fore/aft adjustment.

My 2004. 5 w/power seat did it. My 2005 w/manual seat doesn't.

Mines been doing it for a long time. I haven't tried tightening anything up. I guess I forgot about it until now... thanks a lot JMerola :-laf

Mine also does it with a soft clicking noise.

It sounds like the floor of the truck is flexing.

mine too... dealer said it is normal... untill it is out of warranty... then they will have a fix for it on my dime...

My truck does the same thing. I could never find out what the heck was causing it to happen.

my former 1500 gasser had the power seats, and it too had the little bit of play in the seat base...

Yes!- I usually keep it in the rearward most position as I am 6'4" and I thought that this was why it has no play. But, I did move it fore and aft to see if it is reletive to track position. Seems to have no ( or very, very little if any) play. May be they changed something for '05?



EDIT: I looked back and see that Jason has an 05 too, so it is probably not related to model year.
