I feel a little silly posting this, but I'm going out my mind trying to find this noise. The truck has this little "squeak... squeak... squeak" noise as it goes over a bump or rough road. It sounds like it's coming from inside the cab on the drivers side, but I just can't place it enough to find it!

I'm sure someone out there has had this same noise or at least a suggestion in the right direction. Any help on this one is greatly appreciated.

I expect a rattle or two in my old Power Wagon, but it's so darn frustrating to me having a squeak in a still almost new truck.

Thanks!

Same thing here, annoys me when I have the radio down. Never crossed my mind it would be the control arm bushings.

I had the squeak and it was my wind shield when ever the truck was on any kind of bing via bumbs ect... . it would kind of do a low pitched squeak ,,,, KInd of hard to explain ,,, Due to being an idiot I had to have my wind shield replaced now the squeak is gone ,,, I think the wind shield was squeaking around in the wind shield frame.

Good Luck

Sounds like multiple causes so far. Mine was the intermediate steering shaft. It was a slight squeek that seemed to come from the a-pillar on the drivers side when going around a corner like an on ramp but not always. The dealer service manager drove with me and heard it and said they had a hard time finding what caused it as other trucks had the same sound, but he said he would check my steering shaft and sure enough, it was out of spec and they replaced it under warranty. Squeek went away.

Check the Intermediate steering shaft. You should see a plastic ring around the shaft at the isolator bushing. Try spraying some lube on that to see if it goes away. Newer model 2nd gens have a plastic ring with teeth that was supposed to eliminate a potential squeak.

Thanks for the replies!

I knew that you folks could be of some help. I'll check out the shaft and try lubing the bushings. Sounds like a good place to start!

One more thing that mine had that pertains to auto trucks. The automatic trans shift linkage or bellcrank right at the transmission. The bushings that the linkage rotates in need lube some wd or silicone spray will do the trick. I had similar question and someone told me try this and I thought yeah right but tried it and sqeak was gone, gone

The automatic trans shift linkage or bellcrank right at the transmission.

That's what I had. Drove me CRAZY until I found it. Put a little pressure on your shift lever when you go over the bumps and see if the noise stops.

I've had that squeak, squeak, squeak for over a year-been driving me nuts.

Greased the shift linkage today and it's gone, gone, gone. . .

Pinch Weld

I wrote an extensive post on pinch weld squeeks. I had the same problem and found that it was the cab pinch welds in front of the door hinges and behind the foot kick panel. took some time and minor disassembly but fixed what the dealer couldnt fix. also where the steering colum goes through the fire wall there is a seal that is difficult to get at but that produced a different type of noise. do a search on pinch welds
