Ok, I've read all the previous posts on the '06 trailer wiring problems and didn't see any one with the same indications as we have here.

The truck is a '06 Mega Cab, Laramie, 4x4, Manual trans. Cummins of coarse.

We have a slight "glow" of left and right turn signals AT THE SEVEN-WAY PLUG when the truck is off and no trailer connected. (using a tester) Also does it with trailer connected. Not full voltage as when using the left and right turn signals normally. From previous experience it tells me a ground problem. ALL grounds have been checked and the seven-way plug has good ground thru it. Yes, it has a splitter using original mopar connections for "in box" fifth wheel seven-way connection. NO SPLICING involved. The fifth wheel camper that was connected to this truck has LED tail and stop lights, but normal running lights. Every add on product that was not originally on the truck when new has been disconnected. Including the brake controller and the splitter to the box. The problem still exists.

Also, when pulling the "TRAILER PARK LAMPS" fuse in the fuse box (#15) "glows" the tail lights circuit in the seven-way plug! Also indicating a ground problem.

WHAT THE ####!

I understand that the TIPM may be @ fault for all these problems.

Has anyone reset the TIPM with these problems by disconnecting the batteries????

Could be corrosion in one of the seven way receptacles. Do they salt the roads up there? The terminals in the receptacles are pretty near each other in the back side of the plug. Since you have the splitter you could probably unplug the wires at that point and see if that does anything. Also as I understand it the TIPM has to be reset by dealer. bg

No corrosion here. Yes, the splitter has been diconected from the "in box" 7-way plug as stated in original post.

Modulation is in store for us when we get the TIPM reset-reflashed.

Has anyone used a Smarty to reset-reflash the TIPM??

Could the TPIM be looking for current flow through those circuits to know there is a trailer connected... . all it would need to do was put a small signal (voltage) on those pins, something that wouldn't light a light but would allow the circuit board in the TPIM to know there is a trailer there... maybe its normal... I owned and 08 cab and chassis 5500 and frankly never checked it... . but my 05 has zero voltage at those pins when the turn signals are off...

There is a small reference voltage going through the lighting circuits all the time for lamp outage detection. However it should not be enough to light a bulb, even an LED test lamp. Try disconnecting the C135 connector and see if you have output all the time on the TIPM side of the connector.

I tried to attach a photo of the connector location but it was too big. It is on the firewall below the driver battery heading under the truck. It is a 20 way black connector. Wire colors below.

Did the TSB 08-021-06. Solved all the problems thus far. Hopfully for good, but we are working on a module at this time for the near future.

Thanks for all the advice! TDR all the way!
