Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Another 3K GSK Adjustment question

I just finished the install a bit ago and was expecting to have to go back in and adjust. But the truck seems to run fine. It does idle just a bit higher, around 900, is this too high?.



If the springs were too tight, I would have a flutter in the engine at some point, is this correct? What would be the indication if they were too loose?



RPM range is significantly greater, But it does seem like slightly less low end power. Is this normal?



I plan to do the governer lever adjustment in the next few days, and possibly idle adjustment.

Go with the gov lever adj before you make any more changes. Not sure about your plate's design, but with my #11 I ran the lever up to the nose. Did back off on the idle a bit and then after a trial run went back in and put the plate back in the stock position. I had it a tad forward, but was way too much power for me.

Now runs great with wife's wigwam in tow. Don't have any problem with power at any range now. No stumble or hesitation anywhere.

Tighter springs will give you more rpm's. Mine now runs strong through 3200. Do have to keep a check on the egt's though.

My expertise is limited as I am a gas mech, but have learned a lot the past couple of years with this truck.
