Well guess what now my ABS and brake light is coming on... . I did a search didnt find anytrhing simular to my problem so here we go light will come on both ABS and brake... . if I push the brake pedal down 3 times it will go out for about 2 minutes then come back on... . I changed the sensor already and looked for bad vacuum lines..... Any other suggestions?... ... Rick

Being a '96 it may be the booster's check valve. Stock set-up is a 'flapper' type valve. There is a TSB for changing to a spring loaded valve. Mine hasn't been changed and I get the lights sometime too, especially if it's sat for a few days and has to build vacuum. I haven't been able to find a vacuum leak on mine and think that flapper valve may be tweaked a bit. Not sure how tough to swap, but would think pretty simple, as that check valve is supposedly the only serviceable part on the booster assembly.

Clinton... ... Hmmm good suggestion never thought of that Ill try it,Thanks... ..... Rick

OBTW what kind of fuel milage are you getting??

You're welcome

If you do try that swap, let me know how it went, would you? I've been thinking about it, but my lights don't come on very often. How's your pedal? Mine is a bit soft initially, then feels good when you get into the brakes, it just has a little travel at the beginning before it gets there. I've wondered if that check valve would improve it any.

As always mpg depends on the mood of the driver. I've gotten almost 20 before (like 19. 9), but usually I'm packing around a big external rack that takes me down in the 17 neighborhood. Nice for carrying big, odd shaped items, bad for fuel economy. Real consistent though, I feel like it would be crazy-good with a 3. 54 rear.

Good luck and let me know.
