Ive heard mention of additives for the diesel.

Is the Marvel Mystry Oil mentioned the same as used for air tools?

Also what is the ratio for the mix and what is the other product used?

Thanks.

Additive

MMO same stuff. Initially I put in 16 oz Howe's Lubricator. Available at most truck stops, some Dodge dealers.

Most are using Power Service from Walmart. Stanadyne is good too. The mix varies by individual. Do a search for MMO and you will find tons of info.

After an initial 16 oz, for a full tank, I add 4oz PS and 4oz MMO every time I fill up. I don't go more than 10 to 12 gallons down before filling up any more. The price is a pain. I use an old 32 oz MMO bottle to mix into and pour into the tank. The long bottle neck beats using a funnel. I use a small, 8 oz. measuring cup, to pour the mix, and funnel into the MMO bottle. Unless I am travelling, I don't carry the bottle around. I add the mix after I get home.

BIG IMPORTANT DEAL!!

Add something to your fuel. The '05 model has reported problems with injector failures. Dodge/Star have denied injector claims due to poor fuel. A lousy stunt but the way it is right now.

I have had some rattling noise from my injectors. Adding the above mix stopped it. I also noticed that if my fuel mileage starts to sag a bit, that if I occasionally floor the pedal my fuel mileage comes back up. Sound crazy but it works. These trucks need to be pushed hard once in a while I guess.

My friend, who is a Cummins mechanic, has an '04 model. His truck did the rattle thing and lost mileage. He dumped a whole bottle of Howes's in the tank and cured the problem. He now adds a few oz at every fill up.

Good Luck
