Rotten wood on flatbed utility trailer...Best way to fix?

Glad you enjoy our part of the world on the way up---i'm only 45 minutes from Banff National Park and spent most of my summers in the Kootney"s on summer vacation. Definetly a site to see. I hope one day to make a trip up to Alaska and enjoy what they have to offer/see,it may happen sooner than later cause my folks just left Calgary after 30+years and moved 10 hour drive north to the Alberta/BC border on a farm. When i do go to visit i might as well make a trip out of and keep heading north/west till i get there. :-laf:-laf:-laf. DW

That was a great summation of a great trip. I recognized many places we had seen. Made me want to go back. Actually we are thinking of doing the trip again next year. It doesn't appear that you went to Dawson City in the Yukon, great place to visit.

Thanks for sharing your experience and photos.

Dawson City? Of course we went to Dawson City! (see 07/06) Saw the show and got hugged by Gertie. Great show! (not bad hug either) (link to photo in the text) Went to the top of Dome Road 3 times and then to the gold dredge.

We went there on our return via Chicken and then over the Top of the World hwy.

Hey Al,

Those were great pictures. If you don't mind, what type of camera do you have? Make, model and did you have a telephoto lens?

Thanks again for sharing your trip and pictures.

Jeff

Camera is Canon Digital Rebel DXi 10. 1 MP. Lens 18-85 zoom. Also a 75-300 zoom for the telephoto shots. Many shots use a polarizing filter for better skies. Most shot at ISO 200 some indoor as high as 1600.

Everything shot in RAW mode (a type of 'digital negative' direct from the camera sensor) and then converted to JPEGS later.

Processed on my Asus laptop using a product known as Breezebrowser. Then the website was created and uploaded with MS Frintpage. Web is spread over 4 of the free web spaces on my ATT emails.

Guess I am more of a photo-nut than most. Next plan is to archive the originals and print a few of them. Then a DVD of my trip. This will keep me 'out of the pub' for some time!

... The absolutely worst road we found was Hwy 80 from Reno NV to about Auburn Calif. I prefer frost heave or gravel to the right lane of Hwy 80 at 40mph! And big rigs at excessive speeds made it worse. The surface is rutted and uneven to the point of physical discomfort.

I drive this road at least once a month and I agree, it's absolutely horrible. Especially so since we now have our first RV and towing it through there, especially on either side of the summit is awful. Glad you had a good trip and thank you for the photos!

We really enjoyed Dawson City and intend on going back, however next time we will go in through Tok and Chicken and go out the same way and thus avoid that long stretch from Whitehorse.
