I've been monitoring the site all weekend watching for any problems and to make sure the slave server stayed up to date (which it did) in case there were any. The bad news is that the database crashed at 9:22pm again. The good news is that no data was lost. I tried to debug what happened and wasn't able to get it done in a timely manner so I moved us over to the slave server for now and will work on figuring out exactly what happened on the master server. Until I switch us back you will not be able to send emails to anyone@turbodieselregister.com . I had the site down for about 50 minutes but I wanted to be sure there was no data loss and wanted to take the time necessary to preserve everything in it's state so I can troubleshoot exactly what is causing the problems. Sorry AGAIN :( for any inconvenience.

Well, it looks like we've hit a MySQL bug of some sort because it came down again while I was working on the main server. I was able to stop it before it crashed completely. I am researching options right now.

There's going to be all sorts of problems right now. We seem to have hit a MySQL bug right between the eyes :( . I'm working on downloading a new version of MySQL which I'll be installing on the primary server. Once I get that compiled, optimized, and up and running I'll be shutting down the website and moving the data from the slave (which we're on now) back to the master (with the new SQL server).

It's going to be a loooooooong night and I'm home alone with my 4 yr old tonight and she's having night terrors. Earlier I had promised to play with her and had to put her off for 45 minutes while I got the site back up from the first crash. She was in bed for the 2nd one then right after I had it up she started screaming again. I'm going to be beat in the morning :( .

Amen, Ken.

Thanks for all your hard work, Steve. I think none of us really knows how much work it takes to make this all run smoothly.

Don't feel bad if you put us on hold to take care of the little St. Lawrence. She's no doubt a wonderful little girl, and you have to live with her long after you the TDR dies off when Ford won't let Dodge use Cummins engines (since they own Cummins).....

Steve,

I hope I speak for all members when I say we appreciate your work, and time.

We all need to play uncle to your daughter when we met her, since you put in these long, late, weekend hours fixing our website. Thanks, Jeff

Steve you are doing alright. At one time I worked on a pure breed Angus Aberdeen farm in Penna. (rememper the abbreviation?) back in the Good Old Days, and boy, I need a Manure Fork to navigate many of the sites. Let the Buggers Enjoy the Dark, the Light will Dazzle many. All Best Wishes.
