I need some tires on my 05' Dually I think I've got it narrowed down to Michelin LTX M/S or Toyo M-55's any thoughts. I'm looking for better wear than the GSA's that came on my truck and good traction.
I've tried them all at this point..... almost 500K on 3 3500 dually's and frankly none of them really impress me...
I'm currently having made some 19. 5" steel wheels... and will mount a Michelin on them for my trucks... . I've ordered 3 sets but at this point am undecided what I'm going to buy... . We also have an F550 ford and we are using a highway rib on the front... get close to 110K miles as a front tire and are using the Bandag retread on the rear... . same tread as UPS trucks... . its an all season tire... . and we're seeing 90K plus miles on those tires...
At this point we've had problems with the 17" dually tires 3 times, all under warranty and had problems being in a small town and getting replacements... from side wall cracking on the Goodyears, to seperation problems on one of the other brands but have had no problems with 19. 5"... .
Have about 77k on my Michelin LTX M/S's now and they still look pretty new, hauling heavy 80% or more of the time. Was thinking about 19. 5's but a "buddy" with a duralax hasn't fared too well with his set. IF I keep the '03 I'll probably just go the Michelin route again, maybe with a set of Ricksons new 17" wheels.
Well I got the Michelins LTX's. I pull a 16,00lb trailer suring the summer what kind of preasure do you guy's think. i was running 65psi in my Goodyears loaded and 40 psi empty.
I had Mich LTX on my '95 for a VERY long time... great tires. When my stock tires on the 06 wear out you can bet I'll be buying more LTX'rs to replace them.

You can all laugh if you want, but I run MasterCraft. I get 80,000+ out of the A/T and C/T. I'm curently running the HTR and expect 100,000 or better. I get them for $800 a set of 6. I'll go back to the A/T this fall.
On edit ... ... . I rotate less then prescribed, maybe 15,000 miles instead of 5,000 miles, and the rears wear faster than the fronts.
