Another exhaust question or two...

Thanks again for all the info!!!!! You guys are grrrrrrrrrrrrreat!! (as tony would say ) I am getting the Allied muffler, tail pipe, hangers and some pipe from Rip Rook. That guy is awesome!!!! To say that he is pleasant to deal with is an understatement.

Hard to get a pic under there but here it is. What used to be the forward hangar in the stock system now supports the back of the new muffler. The front is free floating. Has been for 4K miles now and no sag. I did use strap clamps just in case it needed modification. Where it sits next to the frame rail I suppose you could make a clamp if you felt it necessary.



On the 01 the resonator sits about a foot in front of the muffler and it hangs completely unsupported. No problems there either and its been on for 20K miles.

I dunno. I didn't really pay attention to how it sounded. I have heard others though, and they were pretty quiet/nice. I will order a second muffler if it is too loud with just the Allied. Rip has told me how to avoid the drone, so I think I will be all right. I just don't want it to be too noisy inside the cab on the freeway because that would drive me nuts on a long trip.
