I want to get an intake system my 03. We have Kaolin dust ( chalk) down here where I live in Milledgeville and i often go down to Sandersville to see the inlaws ( major chalk spread all over the road) most everybody down here drives white cars... so you don't see the chalk all over them.

Question being chalk is the finest of all particles that I know of, it is ground fine enough for womens makeup and paper.

I have read S&B and AFE website andthey all say coarse dust testing.

I may mod my own box and do a performance drop in... .

which is the best filter for MICRO particles?

My personal feeling is that the factory Mopar paper filter is probably the best at filtering fine particles. I base my opinions about paper filters on this study.

I would consider a BHAF to be just as good if you really need the extra flow.

I would like to have more airflow and a cold air intake , but the trucks transfer the Kaolin out of the mines and down the road and the highway gets very dusty and white from the kaolin.

While on this subject, how well would a Baldwin air filter work in something that weighs roughly 12,000 lbs and is a gasser?

Would they work as well as for a diesel?

Thanks

I run Baldwins in the OE box on my truck... silicon levels, and indication of dirt ingestion, are almost negligible.

I would run the Amsoil EAA-189, if I was concerned about micro filtration. It does such a good job of filtering that you'll be needing to keep it cleaned off with low-pressure compressed air from time to time.

It uses some kind of nano-particulate filter media - pretty nice.
