Here I am

Competition Another first place hook, broke rear driveshaft to boot!

Thanks, TDR Staff

Off Roading Oops...didn't know it was that soft!

Competition Compression ratio - why lower it???

Went back on the road yesterday with our new 3 week old baby after being off the road for 5 weeks.

Mazomanie WI hook September 9th. Hot Diesel Class.
Track wasn't the best, some sections were soft, some hard, so I was constantly locking and unlocking to keep the wheelspeed up and stay on top of the charger.
Broke the rear driveshaft, which surprised me as it is built fairly stout, 4" tubing . 180 thick. It broke right at the welds.

And I thought your driveshaft was wayyyy overkill. Could you possibly show the front of what your homemade driveshaft loops connect to? I'm getting ready to do some of my own. Thanks!

I broke a front driveshaft the same way on a 1970 M151 (Willys look alike) Broke right at the weld, with about 50 HP:-laf But on inspection of the weld you could see rust way down in the weld were it cracked many years ago and just needed my heavy right foot to finish the job:D Think the weld had a crack in it from a previous pull and just took till now to let go?

Congrats on the little one, I hope both mom and the baby are doing well...

My youngest had to go to the ER yesterday (1 yr old) thought he was going to need stitches in his forehead

I found out they can just superglue them back together now  Hopefully, less of a scar this way.

is you driveshaft 1-pc ?, if so how does it act at highway speeds, due to the extended cab, longbed ?

Mine is even longer on my truck (GMC Crew-Cab Dually) and I have had no vibration problems when it was on the road last year and I took it up to 80 a few times. My shafts were from Haisleys and turned out real well also.

Hey Bobcat, you should head over to the Sauk Prairie FFA pulling park for the #8000 truck free for all next may, only about 25 minutes from Mazo and it would be pretty sweet to see a truck with some real power run down the track instead of these chipped out and dressed up beauty queens!
