Well i have a 1998. 5 diesel truck, and it had no fog lights. So i purchased a kit from mopar 4 less, and ordered the kit for a 1999 Dodge. Everything worked on the kit(good kit to purchase, it came with everything i needed) But just one promblem, the wire plug(one on the truck) that hooks up to the new light switch, does not match. The old one the wires on the plug are all scattered around, and on the new light switch it all the wires in a row. I have no idea what to do now. Can i buy an adapter, or do i need a different switch, i have no idea. Any one ever had this problem? Thanks, nick.

I ran into this same problem. On the '99 they changed the switch over from the passenger air bag on/off location and incorporated it into the rotating headlight switch. You should also note that the lights changed from fogs to driving lights during these years. from what I have been told in this forum they won't work. The wiring is completely different at the switch. To fix your problem, for '98 the kit came in two p/n's. The wiring harness in one and the lights/switches/plastic surrounds in another. Each kit is about $95. I suggest you send it all back and get the correct year or spend the extra $$$ for the older switch and sell the lights. Good luck.

One more thing. If your truck is an SLT your wiring should all be there minus the switch. The plug for the fogs is in the center under/behind the radiator. I have one of these kits at home (NIB)and I might be inclined to part it out. I'm doing this same mod and not sure which way I want to go yet. If your not in a hurry send me an email.

hey thanks for the information, but i guess i still have a problem. I am thinking maybe they sent me the wrong kit with my lights, the switch i have is just like my buddies have in their 99 trucks. I have heard a couple of people say that the switch for the fog lights is by the air bag, on or off switch, and if that is true i got the wrong switch i would think. My truck is an SLT model. So i think everything should be there, and another thing i have heard people say that there fog lights hook up to the wire by the radiater, but this kit i got, goes directly to the fuse panel under the hood, and 3 wires that hook up to the new switch, So i guess i am a problem, alot of work for fog lights i guess. I was thinking of just buying a switch at auto zone, but i have a switch from the kit that is nice, what should i do? Nick
