Hey Guys... been loosing the prime to my fueling system, so I pulled the bed off of the truck after spotting a fuel seepage on the side and bottom of the fuel cell and found that the elbows on top of the fuel module had rotted out allowing air into the system. Thanks New York State for all the road salt!!!

Has anyone repaired this without spending $300 on a new module? Is their a way to splice a compression fitting elbow onto the drop tubes or am I just wasting my time?

Also can I replace the rusted fuel lines all the way to the engine with the marine grade hose, or do I have to use ridgid wall tubing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Greg

edited to add: Thanks illflem for the p. m. answer on the hose usage.

I did the fix on the return elbow under there last winter.

Drop the tank, take the cap off and you can take apart the 90 degree elbow to just metal. I got mine bronzed up real good.

I also changed my rusty lines to SS.

Get a tube bender and you can prety well copy the bends easily. Slip on some new rubber hoses on each end and voila. For a few buck it's better than new.

tips from Ontario, where salt was invented for highway use... I think :D :D

I wouldn't use a compression fitting

I haven't done this but if I were to repair rather than replace I would remove the module and drill out the old line and replace it with a new copper line inside the tank. About using rubber hose I'd think it be fine. Merv
