The gain with moving the plate is much less than with using a TST plate. If you decide to move it, mark the original position so you can find it again. With the TST plate, you should use the stock position so the fueling increase is correct over stock. With the 215 hp engine, you will quickly get into egt problems at higher rpm with sustained load. Therefore, with that engine, you should go with the TST plate right away because it increases fueling vs. rpm a safe amount. Moving the plate increases fuel vs. rpm the same at all rpms. With your automatic trans engine's pump, I believe you will find moving the plate doesn't give a good enough increase to be worth the trouble.
