I've finally scrounged up enough cash to get gauges for my truck. I have been reading old posts for the better part of the afternoon looking for information on gauges. I am leaning towards Isspro or Dipricol Optix gauges.

I really like the look of the Optix gauges but I have not been able to find a definite answer regarding the dimming of the LED lighting on these. Is there a way to hook the dimmers up to the factory dimmer circuit or not? I do not constantly change the brightness of my gauges but I do change it enough (driving at night outside of the city) that I do not want to have to mess with adjusting the gauges separately from the factory gauges.

Although, this just occurred to me, as of now, if I ever wanted a rail pressure gauge, then I pretty well need to go with the Optix.

Can someone tell me, is there any benefit of having a rail pressure gauge over a standard fuel pressure gauge on a STOCK truck?

Lots of great information in the old posts, unfortunately I couldn't find what I needed.

Thanks,

Jeff

I just installed a DiPricol fuel pressure guage in my truck. As far as the lighting goes, all I did was run a ground and a hot wire to the correct wires on the headlight switch. The guage is just slightly brighter than the dash lights, but it dims just fine.

If you get the wiring harnesses for the DiPricol gauges from Geno's Garage (http://www.genosgarage.com) they have inline dimmers in them so you can adjust the individual gauge lights to the same level as your dash. Then hook the harness to the appropriate wire on your headlight switch and they will dimm in sync with the dash lights.

Great! That is exactly what I was wanting to hear! I guess I thought that since the wiring harness had the dimmers on them, that was the only way to dim the lights on those gauges.

Thanks for the replies! Now I pretty well have my mind made up!
