additional 200 for install?

im not going to tell u i told u so, but, u should have called sooner. i told u id help u, i didnt mean with installation only. i have just over $400. 00 in all 4 guages and pods in mine.

could have explained how to make the harness, and u wouldnt had to spend 40. 00 on.

i know u said u had a speaker concern and wasnt going with the full pillar, but u would have saved about 25. 00 by not going to column mount and going full w/o speaker.

im not sure why u have the magnet tool listed on there.

a few words of wisdom(that everyone is going to agree with), bombing is not cheap. and if $$ is a concern, then dont.

just wait until u break something.

u really need to call, id like to help, and explain a few things to u. its going to help.

but its your call.

CEpp-

I want my piller speaker

The magnet is for PYRO T/C INSTALL

Ill see ya at the meet we'll talk then bring your flash light.

ARE THE BOOST HOSE AND FP GAUGE HOSE THE SAME STYLE

I HAVE 2 BAGS OF HOSES AND FITTINGS THEY BOTH LOOK THE SAME.

----Fp GAUGE Q & A------------

QOUTE-----"THE INTERNAL MECH. OF THE DIPROCAL FP GAUGE IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH DIESEL AS THE PRESSURE COMPONET" AN ISOLATOR MUST BE USED

anti frezze is less corrosive and better for the gauge internals.

I dont know if autometer gauges are diffrent they might work OK W/O the isolator.

The isolator is a subber also

If your useing an isolator and the line breaks or gets punchered @ the gauge only a limited amount of anti frezze will enter the cab so a needle valve is not nessasary either

I PUT A LITTLE SOME THING TOGETHER TO HOPEFULLY HELP ANYONE INTERESTED.

The Fitting on the top of the fuel filter would be pre filter right??? Itd be nice to have a visable aid when the Fuel Filter is going south

Where Do I TAP for post filter monitering???

IS genos GG like hose required for all isolator mounting options ,,,,,,

schrader valve

BANJO under the filter

GENO's Fuel Filter cap

Thanks guys

DM

The fitting on the top rear of the filter is pre-filter on my '02, I belive that you will need a tapped banjo or other fitting to use this port.

Post filter you can tap the hose between the filter and the VP or at the schrader port (with or without the valve) on the VP. If you leave the valve in you can remove the Genos hose to stop fuel from going to the gauge. This also also allows for testing by your friendly Dodge dealer.

The Genos hose is made to attach to the schrader with valve with the valve still intact, the hose has a special end that pushes in the valve pin in to allow fuel to escape thus enable you to measure pressure, essentially the same as on a bike tire. If you remove the valve from the schrader port, you can use a standard grease gun hose (saves about $13 the last time I checked).

Tapping at the filter port and/or the VP schrader port will cause more needle vibration in the gauge because you are attaching directly to the shak'n motor. Taping the line before the filter (?) or the line between the filter and the VP will reduce the needle vibration because the hose absorbs some of the vibration.

I tapped the pre-filter port and at the schrader (with the valve removed). I use the grease gun hoses from the taps to needle valves. I do not have issues with needle vibration at the gauge using this combination. I know when I need a new filter based on the pressure difference between the Pre and post filter. I you are installing a single gauge then I recommend monitoring post filter. It would be a drag to have good pressure pre-filter and not know that you got some bad fuel which is plugging the filter and reducing pressure at the VP.

I believe that an isolator isolates the fuel from the cab more so than the needle vibration. You do not necessarily need the Genos hose when using an isolator, these serve two seperate purposes.

THANKS GUYS

IM going with the scrader valve hook up and Ill get the genos hose so I wont have to remove my valve steam thingy thats inside. thanks RNR I DIDNT KNOW THE GENOS HOSE LET YOU LEAVE THE STEM IN.

Ill mount the isolator as far from the motor as the Genos hose allows ... not sure where it'll be yet

I got the Fp gauge install kit ---minus isolator from DPP and Im kind of upset because its the exact same thing they sent me with my boost gauge !!!!! it even has all the same connetors *** I purchaced all my gauges together they should of gave me 2 bags of this stuff one for boost and one for FP I just got pegged for $20. 00 IT SHOULD OF CAME WITH THE FP GAUGE

IM STILL ISOLATOR LESS

CSEVERS IS CHECKING ON GETTING ME A DIFFRENT STYLE THEN DIPROCAL OFFERS

IM ORDERING THE GG LIKE HOSE FROM GENOS TONIGHT

And Ill get just the isolator off csevers

Ill defently have a custom jobby Ive been all over on this project Ive done everything but import parts.

PIERS OFFERS THE FP gauge WITH EVERY THING YOU WILL NEED ----FOR LIKE CHEAP . THATS THE EAISER ROUTE

Ill study that threaD KIND OF BUSY RIGHT NOW THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP

DM

NOTE -----VALUABLE INFO_-----------------------

GENOS INSTALL KIT IS 29. 99 DPP IS 39. 99 THERE DIFFRENT KITS but look similar Im not sure whats diffrent .

THE FUEL PRESSURE LINE AND BOOST LINE THAT ENTER THE CAB ARE THE SAME THING >

THE GENOS HOSE DEPRESSES THE NEEDLE IN THE VALVE STEM ON THE SHRADER VALVE SO IT WILL NOT HAVE TO BE REMOVED

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IF I KNEW WHAT I KNOW NOW ID ATTACKED THIS PROJECT DIFFRENTLY.

LIVE AND LEARN

IM GLAD YOU GUYS ARE HERE TO HELP IF NOT

MY TRUCK WOULD BE @ MITCHELLs GETTING THE GAUGE INSTALL DONE

BUT I WOULDNT HAVE THAT SENCE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT ... . LOL

DM

DM, glad to be of some help to you, and I hear you about the learning experience.

Both my FP gauges came with isolators, paid for... but not used.

Worse yet, I tossed them and now I don't have them to pass on to you.

I also waxed 2 of the Genos hoses by tightening them down too much, effectively turning them into standard GG hoses at 3x the cost :{

I have one connected to the schrader without the valve stem now.

#ad

Ill be sure not to over tighten now that I know thats an issue .

I was going the same route as you by opting out the isolater but Got scared when everyone was telling horror stories. #ad

I have a BIG box stuffed with all this stuff It'll get wraped and go under the tree thanks to SANTA.

MY comp box was supposed to be under there also but I couldnt take it anymore :-laf

The install kit comes with alot of stuff theres even 1 self tapping screw for the ground wire... ... Witch Im sure Ill strip out somehow MurPHYS LAW. :D

ADD TO PROJECT-

$18. 00GENO"S HOSE

OK, question, my Di Pricol FP gauge says no anti-freeze required if run from isolator to gauge is 6 feet or less. If one was going to use anti-freeze in the line, what is the trick to getting the line, gauge and isolator filled with anti-freeze?????? ON edit, instructions say to fill the isolator and if the line is longer that 6 feet, fill it also.

Stopped in Seattle yesterday and had a custom 18" hose made to go from tapped bango bolt at VP-44 to isolator. 1/8' NPT on both ends and also a 1/4" NPT fitting to go in the isolator the will couple to the 1/8" NPT at the isolator end to the hose. So I will be able to turn the hose into the bango bolt and then attach it to the isolator without spinning the isolator. Should make bleeding easier.

Getting the anti-freeze into the little hose is the thing I am worried about.
