Newbie questions here. Any Pros and Cons on standard (autometer for example)quages, BD xmonitor and Cummins Road Relay 4? One type better than another? One type to not use?

Autometer makes gauges, The Road Relay and The X monitor are computerised systems that are not the same as Autometer or Westach for example.

You really cant compare the two. The computersied systems do alot more then a conventional gauge could ever do.

Thanks for the reply

how do the computerized units work, they plug into an exsiting harness or so you still drill and tap for the probes?

It depends on what model you are getting. I know the Road Relay plugs into a factory harness but from what i recall, it does not offer EGT readings. The BD has EGT and does require drilling and tapping for an EGT probe.

So many choices. We offer several brands of gauges and the X-monitor as well, but I personally like a good quality gauges mounted on the pillar, simply because they are easier for me to read at a glance.

i was looking at the westach gauges specifically the one that has both the egt and boost in one guage with the crossing needles, does anyone have this gauge are they easy to read. It looks to me like it would be hard to get an accurate reading at just a glance. for those that have this gauge what is your experience.

Dual purpose gauge

I have a friend that has that very gauge sitting on a shelf somewhere and would probably be interested in selling it. PM me if you decide that you are interested, and I will see if I can get a price for you.
