Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Another Hard starter

96 dodge when started in the morning, smokes blue smoke and runs real rough, will hardly rev and pops alot, and pops when warm also.

Sounds like the pump timing is off to me...

You have two heater grids, one on top of the other. It will start hard & blow blue smoke if one or both are not coming on when it's cold. Usually it's one of the relays bolted to the driver's fender well. Don't depend on the volt meter fluctuation, the meter will behave the same with only one grid heating. Check to see if BOTH grids are getting current. Relays are easy to replace as a set but the Dodge dealer is the only place I could find them.

when was the last time the fuel filter was replaced and does it have water or any thing else in it, if that is ok i would think the timeing may be off write back and let us know what you find good luck and take care

fuel filter was just replaced, I will have to check the grids but it is acting like my 98 when the timing was off, but worse.

yes i would check the timing now i was hopeing it may have been the filter thats a lot easyer and cheaper to fix write back when you find something take care
